Located only a stone’s throw from Bethnal Green Underground station and a short walk from Shoreditch Overground station, in the heart of Bethnal Green Road, The Old George is a beautifully restored London pub, dating back to the 1700s.
Reopening under Antic in the summer of 2013, we are a friendly and charming local’s local, boasting five real ale taps, two t-bars and thoughtful wine list, offering something to suit every drinker. We serve an ever-changing selection of Cask Marque certified local and regional ales, fine spirits and bottled beers to always keep you on your toes.
Run by head chef Jay Bond, our kitchen serves fresh and locally sourced British pub fare. With a strong emphasis on sharing, our menu offers a variety of seasonal small and large plates, popular staples and ever-popular traditional Sunday Roasts. Keep an eye on the menu’s ‘Today’s’ section for daily specials and if you’re in a snacking mood, why not try our homemade bar snacks?
Spread across a large open bar area, two cosy reception rooms and large beer garden at the rear (one of the largest in the area), The Old George’s original features – ceiling beams and exposed brick work, quirky vintage décor and soft lighting makes us the perfect location for any social occasion. With our variety of hire spaces and cosy corners, we can accommodate for party bookings up to 40. For booking enquiries please call us or speak to one of our team in person.
Here at the Old George we know how to host a party! We run a weekly pub quiz every Wednesday at 8pm (book a table to avoid disappointment), regular emerging live music events and seasonal parties. For all upcoming events, please check our social media accounts, or ask a friendly face behind the bar.
We are family, dog and bike friendly and even have a pub cat called Patches!
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Children are allowed until 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 8:30pm on all other days.
